For patients who have difficulty getting numb, have trouble sitting still, apprehensive about needles, or are simply uncomfortable with dental procedures in general, Sedation Dentistry is often times the perfect solution to assure comfort & oral health.

Sedation dentistry, as the name implies, is a technique used to provide a relaxing and anxiety-free experience to the dentist.

You are given a small pill to take an hour prior to your dental appointment.  Your companion will accompany you to the office.  By the time you arrive, you will be very drowsy.

A major benefit to the sedation technique is that people often feel the procedure lasts only a few minutes when in fact, it might have taken hours to perform. Most people rarely feel any discomfort after the procedure.

Additionally, many times with Sedation Dentistry, complex dental procedures (normally requiring numerous visits) can often be performed in just one or two sittings.

Typical Sedation Dentistry Candidates:
• experience fear/anxiety during dental procedures
• have very sensitive teeth
• have a sensitive gag reflex
• have had a traumatic dental experience
• have limited jaw opening or difficulty keeping mouth open

Dr. Cascino is a member of DOCS - the Dental Association forConscious Sedation.
